Down on the farm values. Family business.
In 1929, Peter J. Schaul installed a copper boiler and began cleaning, dressing and selling fresh poultry from the basement of his Niles home. It wasn’t long before Schaul’s Live Poultry Farm opened its first retail store at California and Pratt, followed, in 1946 with a brand new retail store at Touhy and Harlem avenues in Niles. The Schaul name grew, establishing a reputation for serving the highest grade of fresh poultry and meats, supporting the product mix with service that put the customer first, no questions asked. The business has changed over the years, but our customer service has not. It is the very foundation of our business today.
